Based in Chicago, Forever Young is a
year 1998 Jeanneau sloop-rigged sailboat, 36 feet in length overall,
with a 12.5-foot beam, a 6.5-foot draft, carrying 700 feet of sail
area atop a magnificent blue colored hull. She can accommodate six
to eight passengers in her cockpit.
Forever Young is an energetic yacht.
Her sleek hull, tall rig and deep keel foster fast sailing –
6.5+ knots is the norm in a good breeze. She has a roller furling
Genoa and Mainsail that are entirely controlled from the cockpit
by four Harken winches, providing maximum safety and convenience.
Her helm has a large steering wheel and top-quality Raytheon instrumentation
including an Autohelm 4000 autopilot, ST50 speed, depth, log, and
ST50 wind direction and speed instruments. She is also equipped
with a Garmin cartographic GPS at the helm.
Forever Young is very well equipped
and trimmed below deck. Much finely finished teak is used in her interior.
She has two cabins forward and aft with large hatches for ventilation.
The upholstery in the main salon is cream color leatherette, with
deep blue fabric in the forward and aft cabins. She also has a forward
facing nav station, which is where the Jensen CD player and Raytheon
VHF are mounted. Her sound system is superb – Bose cubes with
a hidden subwoofer below deck, and Bose speakers in the cockpit.
Forever Young has a sizable galley
with a two-burner stove, oven, refrigerator, and a double sink with
hot and cold pressure water. The galley is stocked with quality
wine glasses, plates, silverware, pots, pans and utensils. Her head
is sizable with a separate hot and cold pressure shower. Pinnacle
stocks all consumable items including paper, trash disposal and
cleaning products for your convenience.
Forever Young is equipped with
safety gear that exceeds Coast Guard requirements. Ten life jackets,
three fire extinguishers, a throwable life preserver, swim rope,
flair kit, first aid kit, radar reflector, flash light, high-intensity
spot light, tool kit, two sets of foul weather gear, two harnesses
and tethers, and local area charts are provided for the safety of
you and your passengers.
