Yacht Timeshare – Not Charter or Rental

Unlike bareboat charter companies or walk-up rental companies that have many unknown people with “short-timer” attitudes using your yacht – the Pinnacle shared-yacht program allows only a handful of responsible, skilled people who join the program for a full-season use your yacht. This means that they treat your yacht like they own it, with great pride and care, as personal relationships are formed between the people sharing the yacht.

Responsible and Skilled Timeshare Captains

The typical Member sharing your yacht is 40 – 60 years of age, affluent, professional, and well-educated. Most all are capable of owning their own yacht but chose not to as a matter of convenience and camaraderie. They usually have owned a yacht at some point, or have extensive experience on the yacht of a family member or friend. All Members partake in our mandatory Captains Orientation and Sea Trial, where they must demonstrate their boat handling skills and participate in a group exam. Approximately 25% of our Members also choose to take additional instruction from Pinnacle about cruising your yacht in local waters.

Risk Sharing

Pinnacle is motivated to see that your yacht has responsible Members using on her, and that she is well-maintained during her tenure in the program. This is so because Pinnacle guarantees the trade-in value of your yacht, clearly motivating us to care for your yacht as if we owned her, as someday we may be asked to do so. Also, unlike charter companies, we guarantee a fixed income to you that will exceed your mortgage payments, and we pay for all maintenance and operating expenses, shifting much of the risk of owning the yacht from you to Pinnacle.
