Are you new to sail or power boating? Has
your experience been aboard smaller boats or is it somewhat dated?
Not a problem. Pinnacle's acclaimed sail, power boat and navigation
courses will have you captaining your fabulous Pinnacle yacht
safely and confidently - it's a breeze!
Pinnacle is an American Sailing Association
(ASA) school providing Members with the opportunity to earn ASA
certifications in Basic Keelboat, Coastal Cruising and Coastal
Navigation.
Available only to Members in our shared-yacht
program, Pinnacle training courses have proven to teach essential
knowledge and skills, as evidenced by our many delighted graduates.
Note that an applicant already possessing
adequate skills need not take additional instruction to become
a shared-yacht member.
If your dream is to someday charter a yacht
in places like the Caribbean, Greece or the South Pacific, Pinnacle
instruction is the perfect compliment to your helm-time experience
gained as a Pinnacle shared-yacht Member. With both education
and big-boat experience, you will qualify to charter a yacht in
the mid-40 foot range or larger anywhere in the world!
Pinnacle Members (also know as Captains)
typically attend training sessions with a spouse, adult child
or friend acting as Crew. This fosters joint learning and confidence,
and sharing the experience with another close to you is great
fun.
Hands-on instruction courses are scheduled
prior-to or early in the season, on the yacht you will later be
captaining in Pinnacle's shared-yacht program; not the smaller,
older training boats typically used by most schools. Sessions
take place on weekday evenings and weekends over a two-week span
providing time for review of the home study materials and assimilation
of practical experiences gained. Navigation courses are self-study
based and occur in advance of, and during, the season.
In keeping with the overall tenor of the
Pinnacle program, the training environment is friendly, relaxed
and supportive. The objective is to help each Captain and Crew
build, through study and practice, the skills, experience and
confidence necessary to become prudent mariners.
